Fans eagerly await Fadel Chaker’s Abu Dhabi concert after Riyadh return

Abu Dhabi is preparing to host Lebanese singer Fadel Chaker on 20 November at Etihad Arena, marking only his second public performance since stepping back from the stage. The concert, which he will share with his son Mohammed Chaker, follows his return to live performance at Riyadh Season in Saudi Arabia on 22 October, where the show titled “The Return of the Absent One” drew an enthusiastic crowd.

A long-awaited return

For Dana Rifai, 29, the announcement sparked immediate excitement. She has long dreamed of singing the line “Ma’ool ensak, Ma’ool” in the same room as the artist. “It has always been my dream to attend a Fadel Chaker concert and sing it with him live,” she said. “I am just waiting for the ticket link to be released, and I will definitely book mine.”

Rifai described her reaction upon hearing the news as genuine happiness and excitement. “His music holds a special place in the hearts of so many people, especially those who grew up listening to his songs,” she said. She highlighted his unique voice and the emotion he brings to his music, adding, “His songs have a way of touching your heart, bringing back memories, and making you feel every word.”

Fans share their excitement

Mohamed Gamil Omar, 30, a long-time fan, also emphasised the emotional power of Chaker’s voice. “I love listening to his voice because it carries so much emotion and touches our hearts,” he said. He noted how the songs evoke deep feelings and bring back beautiful memories. When he learned of the Abu Dhabi concert, he was genuinely very happy and excited. “It would be a dream to hear him sing live,” he said.

However, Omar expressed concern about affordability. “Unfortunately, I may not be able to afford tickets to the show,” he said. Still, he hopes to attend with his wife. “It would mean so much to both of us to attend and experience this special evening together,” he added.

Layla El Najjar, 34, has been a fan since childhood and said she has been waiting for this moment for a long time. After seeing videos from the Riyadh concert, she felt a touch of envy. “I could not help but feel a little FOMO, so hearing that he is coming to Abu Dhabi made me even more excited,” she said. She described Chaker as one of her all-time favourite artists, loving both his older songs and his new music, which she called “simply the cherry on top.”

El Najjar noted that his songs hit emotionally and take her back to a different time. “There is so much nostalgia in his music, and his songs are beautifully written in a way that makes them timeless,” she said. She plans to get tickets, waiting for booking to open. “The tickets seem to be selling fast at his concerts, so I am really hoping I get the chance to secure one and finally experience his performance live in Abu Dhabi,” she said.

Tickets go on sale today

Tickets for the concert go on sale today, Monday 26 October, at 18:00 local time.
