UAE braces for rain, dust and fog as temperatures slip into low-30s

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a forecast of fair to partly cloudy weather across the UAE today, with a chance of rainfall in several regions as winds pick up speed and stir dust in internal areas. Temperatures are continuing to fall, with highs expected in the low-30s Celsius in most emirates, while humidity is set to rise overnight, bringing a possibility of fog or mist formation over coastal and internal areas.

UAE braces for rain, dust and fog as temperatures slip into low-30s

Rain expected across multiple emirates

The NCM predicts convective cloud formation over northern, eastern and southern parts of the country, which could lead to rain in areas stretching from Fujairah and Sharjah to Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. Residents in these regions should be prepared for wet conditions throughout the day.

Temperatures continue to fall

Ajman is expected to record the highest temperature among the emirates at 36°C, while Dubai, Sharjah, Umm Al Quwain and Ras Al Khaimah will all peak at 35°C. Abu Dhabi will see a high of 34°C, and Fujairah will remain the coolest emirate at 33°C. However, the internal area of Liwa is forecast to reach 38°C, the highest in the country. Minimum temperatures across the emirates range from 23°C in Umm Al Quwain to 28°C in Ajman and Fujairah.

Humidity and fog forecast

The NCM has warned that humidity levels will increase by night and into Wednesday morning over some coastal and internal areas, raising the probability of fog or mist formation. Motorists and commuters are advised to exercise caution during early morning hours.

Wind and sea conditions

Light to moderate winds averaging 10 to 25 km/h are expected, but gusts in internal areas may reach up to 45 km/h, stirring up dust. The NCM advises people to stay indoors during dusty conditions and to keep doors and windows closed to prevent dust from entering homes or vehicles. In the Arabian Gulf, sea conditions will be slight to moderate, with wave heights reaching up to two feet onshore and up to four feet offshore. The Sea of Oman will see slight conditions, with gentle waves onshore rising to two feet and offshore waves reaching three feet.
