UAE Faces Foggy Start with Rain and Dusty Winds Expected

Friday’s Foggy Start

Early on Friday, dense fog settled over parts of the United Arab Emirates, reducing visibility in several areas. The National Centre of Meteorology warned that rain and dusty winds could occur over the next four days and forecast fair to partly cloudy conditions, with convective clouds likely to develop over eastern districts in the afternoon, bringing a chance of isolated rain.

Weekend Outlook

Humidity is expected to rise overnight and into Saturday morning across coastal and inland zones, increasing the likelihood of fog or mist. Winds will be light to moderate, initially from the southeast before shifting northwesterly; they may strengthen when clouds form, lofting dust and reaching speeds of 10 to 25 km/h, with gusts up to 45 km/h. Seas will remain slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea. Saturday should mirror Friday, with fair to partly cloudy skies, possible afternoon convective cloud formation and scattered showers in some localities.

Early Week Forecast

Humidity will again increase on Saturday night and Sunday morning, raising the prospect of fog or mist in coastal and inland spots. On Sunday, rain‑laden clouds could appear over northern and eastern regions during the afternoon, while humid conditions persist overnight into Monday morning, again favouring fog or mist. Monday may see another round of afternoon showers, especially over eastern and southern sectors, as convective clouds develop. Mist could form overnight and into Tuesday morning in some inland and coastal areas. Throughout the four‑day span, winds are forecast to stay generally light to moderate, occasionally strengthening with cloud activity and causing blowing dust; gusts may reach 40 km/h from Saturday through Monday. Sea conditions are expected to remain slight in the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea for the entire period.
