UAE Forecasts Five Days of Rain, Strong Winds and Dust
The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) says the UAE will experience unsettled weather over the coming five days, with possible rain, strong winds reaching 50km/h and blowing dust in various regions.
Weather drivers and general outlook
The NCM’s latest bulletin, issued today, explains that an extension of a surface low-pressure system together with an upper-air low-pressure system is influencing the pattern. It forecasts partly cloudy skies with convective clouds forming over eastern and southern areas in the afternoon, which could bring showers.
Winds are expected to be light to moderate, becoming fresh to strong at times with cloud activity, reaching 45km/h in mountainous areas, 40km/h inland and 35km/h along the coast.
Temperatures are projected to hit 42°C in inland zones, between 34°C and 39°C on the coast and islands, and between 28°C and 33°C in mountainous areas. Humidity will rise overnight and into Tuesday morning, with fog or mist possible in some coastal locations.
Mid‑week details
The likelihood of rain is expected to continue on Tuesday and Wednesday, as convective clouds develop over eastern areas and extend towards inland and western parts during the afternoon. Winds could strengthen to 50km/h on both days, stirring dust and potentially reducing visibility in exposed areas. Humid conditions will persist overnight, with fog or mist possible in some coastal and inland spots.
Later week and marine outlook
On Thursday, partly cloudy conditions will remain, with convective clouds forming over eastern and western areas in the afternoon, possibly bringing further rainfall. Winds may reach 40km/h, accompanied by blowing dust.
By Friday, the forecast calls for generally fair to partly cloudy skies, becoming cloudy at times over eastern and western regions. Humidity is set to rise overnight and into Saturday morning, with fog or mist possible over some western coastal areas, and winds could reach 35km/h.
The Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman are anticipated to remain slight throughout the forecast period.
