The operation, which involved close cooperation between multiple nations and private sector partners, also led to more than 960 arrests worldwide.
Scale and Scope of the Operation
Operation Ghost Confrontation was coordinated by the UAE Ministry of Interior and brought together authorities from 30 countries. In addition to state agencies, 13 international companies and two international organisations participated in the effort, making it one of the largest cross-border crackdowns on financial crime in recent years.
International Recognition
The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) commended the UAE for its leadership role in orchestrating the operation. The UN body highlighted the significant impact of the collaborative action in disrupting large-scale fraud networks and protecting victims across multiple jurisdictions.
Officials described the operation as a milestone in global efforts to combat organised financial crime, noting that the scale of asset seizures and fraud prevention underscores the effectiveness of intelligence-sharing and joint operational planning.
