The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a safety advisory for motorists driving in rainy conditions, urging them to exercise caution, keep their headlights on, and stay updated through official channels.

UAE weather authority calls for caution, headlight use during rain

Advisory on Rainy Weather Driving

In an advisory released on Sunday, the NCM stressed the importance of taking preventive measures when using vehicles during rainfall to protect both drivers and other road users. The centre called on motorists to be particularly careful when travelling on wet roads and to interact considerately with other road users.

Safety Recommendations for Wet Conditions

The NCM also advised drivers to ensure their main headlights are switched on during rainy weather, especially when visibility is reduced. This measure is intended to improve the visibility of vehicles and reduce the risk of accidents.

Stay Informed Through Official Channels

The centre urged the public to closely monitor weather developments through media outlets and official platforms, and to follow instructions issued by the relevant authorities. It further emphasised the importance of obtaining weather forecasts and reports directly from official sources, and cautioned against circulating rumours.

The advisory is part of the NCM’s ongoing efforts to raise public awareness about road safety precautions during unstable weather conditions and to minimise the risks associated with rainfall.
