UAE weather: Rain, dust and fog forecast as temperatures hit 41°C
The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has forecast rain, dusty winds and fog in parts of the UAE over the coming days, with temperatures expected to reach 41°C in some inland areas. The unsettled weather is being driven by a surface low-pressure system extending across the region, combined with an upper-air low-pressure system.
Thursday: Rain, Dust and Fog
On Thursday, convective clouds are likely to develop over eastern and western areas during the afternoon, bringing a chance of rainfall. The NCM said conditions will be fair to partly cloudy, with a possibility of convective cloud formation accompanied by rain.
Light to moderate winds from the southeast to northeast, with speeds of 10 to 25 km/h, may occasionally reach 40 km/h in inland and mountainous areas, stirring up dust.
Inland areas can expect temperatures between 35°C and 41°C, while coastal regions and islands will see 34°C to 38°C. Mountainous areas will be cooler, with temperatures ranging from 26°C to 32°C.
Overnight and into Friday morning, humidity levels are set to rise, particularly along parts of the coast, increasing the likelihood of fog or mist. The Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea are expected to remain slight.
Weekend Outlook: More Rain and Cooler Conditions
On Friday, the NCM forecasts partly cloudy skies, with a chance of convective clouds forming over eastern areas in the afternoon.
Saturday will bring a renewed chance of rainfall in eastern and northern parts of the country, accompanied by a gradual decline in temperatures. Similar conditions are forecast for Sunday, with convective clouds likely to develop over northern and eastern areas, bringing further chances of rain.
Humidity will remain high overnight and during the early morning hours, with fog or mist possible in some coastal and inland areas.
Next Week: Fair to Partly Cloudy
By Monday, conditions are expected to remain fair to partly cloudy, with clouds developing over northern and eastern regions during the afternoon.
Winds will generally remain light to moderate over the coming days, occasionally reaching 35 km/h, while seas will be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and slight in the Oman Sea.
