Mosaic Restaurant celebrates decade in Abu Dhabi with record 196-dish Lebanese mezze display
Mosaic Restaurant has marked its tenth anniversary in Abu Dhabi with what it describes as a record-breaking showcase of Lebanese cuisine: a table of more than 196 varieties of mezze, each prepared as an individual component of a larger culinary composition.
A culinary tribute to diversity
The restaurant, whose name evokes the idea of separate pieces forming a unified whole, applied that same philosophy to its anniversary celebration. Lebanon’s culinary identity, the restaurant said, is shaped by the diversity of its regions, villages and family kitchens, each contributing its own flavours, techniques and stories.
For the anniversary, that diversity became the inspiration behind a single composition. More than 196 mezze dishes — from well-known Lebanese classics to lesser-known regional specialities — were brought together, each retaining its own distinct identity, flavour, texture and character.
Behind the scenes: precision and passion
The spectacle required extensive research, preparation and coordination. Every dish demanded its own ingredients, technique and timing, forcing the kitchen team at Mosaic to work with precision while preserving the authenticity that defines Lebanese cuisine, the restaurant explained.
For Executive Chef Hassana El Baroudi, the goal was never simply to fill a table with dishes. It was to tell a story through them — the story of Lebanon, of its extraordinary culinary diversity, and of Mosaic’s own decade-long journey in Abu Dhabi.
The Mosaic philosophy on a plate
The result, the restaurant said, is more than an anniversary celebration. It is a culinary interpretation of the Mosaic philosophy itself: more than 196 individual expressions of Lebanese flavour brought together to form one unforgettable masterpiece.
