Abu Dhabi Police issue rain safety alert for drivers

Expected weather conditions

With rainfall forecast for the coming days, Abu Dhabi Police have warned that visibility may drop, roads could become slick and flash floods may develop near wadis.

Hazards highlighted by authorities

Officials point out three main dangers: reduced sight due to spray, increased risk of skidding on wet surfaces, and the possibility of sudden water accumulation in wadis that could lead to flash flooding.

Recommended driver actions

To stay safe, drivers are urged to consult weather updates before departing, lower their speed, keep a sufficient gap between vehicles, steer clear of wadis and avoid using mobile phones while behind the wheel.
