Dubai Police adds lost item reports and colour-change permits to petrol station services

Dubai Police have introduced two fresh services under their ‘On the Go’ initiative, allowing customers to register lost items and secure official approval for altering a vehicle’s colour at participating fuel outlets. The expansion brings the total number of services available through the scheme to 10, spread across 167 petrol stations operated by the Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC), the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and the Emirates General Petroleum Corporation (Emarat).

New service details

The Lost Item Report service enables individuals to declare missing belongings and receive a formal certificate that can be presented to relevant authorities when needed. The Vehicle Colour Change Permit service lets owners of vehicles registered in Dubai obtain prior authorisation before repainting their cars.

Captain Majid bin Saed Al Kaabi, Head of the ‘On the Go’ Initiative Team, said the move reflects Dubai Police’s dedication to creating innovative, proactive services that align with community expectations. He described the latest additions as another step towards boosting service efficiency and speeding up transactions.

Strategic partnerships and training

Al Kaabi emphasised the importance of collaborations with fuel retailers in advancing the initiative, calling ‘On the Go’ a pioneering model for delivering police services away from traditional centres. He reaffirmed the force’s commitment to introducing further services that improve customer satisfaction and strengthen Dubai’s reputation as a global leader in government service quality.

The ‘On the Go’ initiative is an officially approved Dubai Police service channel that complies with the Services 360 policy, Al Kaabi noted. To support its rollout, 1,823 petrol station employees have been trained to provide services to the public according to approved standards.

Expansion journey

The initiative has grown through six development phases since its launch in partnership with Dubai’s fuel retailers. The first phase introduced police services at five petrol stations, followed by an expansion to 10 stations in the second phase. The third phase added the Lost and Found service, while the fourth brought in eCrime and Police Eye, offering extra channels for reporting cybercrime and suspicious activities. The fifth phase extended the initiative to include People of Determination Services and Labour Complaints. The sixth and latest phase introduces the Lost Item Report and Vehicle Colour Change Permit services, bringing the initiative’s reach to 167 petrol stations.

Through these partnerships, Dubai Police aim to simplify access to essential services, reduce unnecessary trips to police stations, and make government transactions more convenient for everyone.
