UAE Employers Must Report Missing Domestic Workers Within Five Days, MoHRE Says

MoHRE clarifies that a report is required when a domestic worker leaves work without the employer’s knowledge and the employer is unable to establish the worker’s whereabouts or make contact.

UAE Employers Must Report Missing Domestic Workers Within Five Days, MoHRE Says

The complaint must be submitted via the ministry’s official website or the MOHRE UAE mobile app. Employers should access the domestic worker services section, select the absence‑from‑work reporting service, complete the application with the required details and submit it for processing.

The five‑day reporting rule applies specifically to domestic workers. For private‑sector employees, an absence report is generally required only after more than seven consecutive days of unexplained absence.

For guidance or to follow up on a submitted report, employers can call the MoHRE customer service number 600590000. The ministry also urges employers to consult its official website for full details of the application procedures and available channels.
