Indian Embassy in UAE Warns Nationals of Fraudulent Visa Agencies
Warning Issued
The Embassy of India in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General of India in Dubai and the Northern Emirates have issued an advisory warning Indian nationals about fraudulent visa and migration processing agencies operating outside India, including within the UAE.
Common Tactics Identified
The advisory notes that the missions have received complaints from Indian nationals against agencies that promote third‑country employment and residency visa services through social media advertisements. These agencies allegedly collect fees from applicants but fail to deliver the promised services or provide refunds.
Advice for Applicants
Indian nationals are urged to exercise extreme caution and not rely solely on social media advertisements or place blind trust in private visa‑processing agencies, particularly those based outside India. They should verify visa requirements, application procedures and authorised channels directly with the embassy or consulate of the destination country in their country of residence.
The advisory further stresses that applicants must never pay money on the basis of promises of visa approval, as no agency can guarantee a visa; the decision rests solely with the issuing government.
For accurate and up‑to‑date visa information, applicants are advised to consult official government and embassy websites of the relevant country directly, rather than depending on third‑party sources.
