Record-breaking UFC 333 in Abu Dhabi sees Volkanovski and Yan retain titles
Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Arena played host to a record-breaking UFC 333 event, drawing the largest crowd ever for a mixed martial arts card in the emirate. Fighters Alexander Volkanovski and Petr Yan successfully defended their championship belts during the sold-out night.
The event recorded the highest UFC attendance and gate revenue in Abu Dhabi’s history, according to organisers. More than half of the spectators travelled from outside the UAE to attend, underlining the international appeal of the fight night.
Ceo praises global reach
UFC chief executive Dana White emphasised the historic scale of the crowd and the global pull of the Abu Dhabi stop on the UFC calendar. He said he wants to keep bringing major UFC events to the capital, citing the emirate’s strong track record of hosting world-class sports.
The announcement came via a statment from the Emirates News Agency, WAM.
