Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed launches falconry charter on 50th anniversary of Abu Dhabi conference
His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai, has ordered the creation of the ‘Sheikh Zayed Principles of Falconry’ Charter. The move coincides with the 50th anniversary of the International Conference on Falconry and Conservation, whose first gathering took place in Abu Dhabi in 1976.
Ten principles for heritage and sustainability
The charter is built around ten key principles. It aims to provide a comprehensive framework for safeguarding falconry traditions, boosting sustainability and advancing the sport both within the UAE and around the world.
Leadership roles in falconry bodies
Sheikh Ahmed serves as President of the International Federation for Falconry Sports and Racing (IFFSR) and also heads the UAE Falcons Federation. His directive underlines the country’s commitment to preserving the cultural and sporting legacy of falconry.
