Accident on Umm Suqeim bridge disrupts Tuesday morning traffic across Dubai

Motorists in Dubai faced significant delays on Tuesday morning as a crash on the Umm Suqeim Street bridge compounded congestion on several major routes. The accident, reported by Dubai Police on social media, is blocking vehicles travelling from Al Khail Street towards Al Barsha South, prompting an appeal for drivers to proceed with caution.

Slow-moving traffic on key highways

Live traffic monitoring systems showed vehicles crawling on Al Khail Road from Al Quoz towards Business Bay, with multiple incidents recorded along that corridor. Similarly, Ras Al Khor Road between Dubai Design District and Nadd Al Hamar saw sluggish movement.

On Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, motorists experienced hold-ups near Jumeirah Village Circle, Dubai Sports City and Dubai South. Congestion was also building from Mirdif towards Al Qusais and Sharjah, while traffic on Al Ittihad Road heading towards Sharjah slowed near Al Nahda and Al Mamzar.

Inner-city roads and alternative routes

Umm Suqeim Street near Al Barsha South and Circle Mall saw increasing congestion. Inner-city roads in Oud Metha, Al Karama and Al Qusais became heavy, as did Airport Road near Al Garhoud. However, traffic was flowing freely on Emirates Road and sections of Dubai-Al Ain Road.

Dubai Police and the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) urged motorists to consult live traffic maps before setting out, take alternative routes where possible, and maintain a safe following distance. They also advised drivers not to slow down to look at accidents, as this worsens delays, and to keep up with official updates.
