Morning traffic congestion reported on Sharjah‑Dubai border routes

Early Wednesday morning, motorists experienced slow‑moving conditions along the Sharjah‑Dubai frontier, with noticeable bottlenecks around Abu Hail, Muhaisnah and several link roads, as reported by Google Maps, while the majority of Dubai’s main arteries continued to flow freely.

Morning traffic congestion reported on Sharjah‑Dubai border routes

Border‑area congestion

Heavy traffic built up on Sheikh Zayed Road (E11) close to Abu Hail and the Sharjah‑Dubai boundary, showing red and dark‑red segments on Google Maps. Congestion also affected Abu Hail, Muhaisnah and a number of connecting roads, while conditions improved toward Jumeirah, Al Barsha and Dubai Marina.

Highway conditions

Most major highways within Dubai moved smoothly, although delays appeared on sections of Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road (E311), Al Khail Road (E44) and the roads serving Dubai South. Meanwhile, the bulk of Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road remained clear, and Al Khail Road flowed well apart from moderate crowding around Al Barsha South and its adjoining junctions.

Localized trouble spots

Drivers faced hold‑ups on Deira‑Al Qusais connector roads, notably on Damascus Street (D62) heading toward Sharjah. Further south, traffic eased near Falconcity of Wonders and the Dubai‑Al Ain Road (E66) interchange, yet a fresh jam emerged close to Dubai South’s Logistics District and Al Maktoum International Airport. Jumeirah Village Circle, Dubai Sports City and Dubai Production City saw uninterrupted flow. Brief slow‑downs were noted near Dubai Design District and Warsan 3, especially around the Emirates Road interchange, while the Al Quoz and Ras Al Khor stretches stayed largely clear. Emirates Road (E611) maintained a smooth pace across most of the emirate, including the Dubai South and Al Awir corridors, and only short delays appeared at the Sharjah‑side link with route E88, without widespread congestion on the main artery.

Driver advice

Authorities urge motorists to allocate extra travel time, keep a safe following distance and consult live traffic updates before departing.
